My cable broke to charge my phone and I was wondering if it was covered by warranty? And if so is there anyway I could get one shipped instead of traveling 2+ hours to the nearest apple store?

Iphone 5 charging Cable

I have had to buy 4 iphone 5 charging cables. They get twisted near where they plug and then charge in one position and eventually not at all. It's RIDICULOUS, im about to have to buy my 5th. My friends have had the same issue too. Does anyone have any suggestions

is there a Lightning to Lightning cable ?

I have a charger with a lightning connection, but the phone case that my spouse uses prevents setting the iPhone5 on top of it.  I need a cable with a female lightning jack to a male lightning plug (and the male plug can't be any larger than the normal charger plug).  Searches in Apple, Amazon, Google, etc, have not yielded any direct Lightning to Lightning cable.  Am I looking for the correct cable / using the correct terminology (I saw something called thunderbolt with a female side, but couldn't tell if it pairs up with lightning) ?

I have an iphone 5 with both an Lightning to 30-pin Adapter and a Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m).  They do NOT work the same way.  I have a DICE in-car system that has a 30 pin connector cable for connecting an ipod or iphone.  It has worked fine on all ipods and all iphones through the 4S.  So, obviously had to wait for the lightning adapters came out when I got a 5.  Ordered both the the 30-pin/Lightning adapter and the 30-pin/Lightning cable.  Have both in hand now and tested each with my in-car 30-pin cable.  The 30-pin/Lightning adapter works flawless.  Audio and charging work perfectly with the iphone 5.  Thankfully.

 

A different story with the 30-pin/Lightning cable. When using this cable, the iphone reports "accessory is not supported".  Charging does work, but no audio out.  Tried it in every conceivable configuration of car stereo/ipod/cable insertion orders you might imagine.  Nada.

 

So, the 30-pin/Lightning adapter works perfectly and the cable version does not support audio and reports "accessory is not supported".

 

Something is different between these 2 adapters.  I tried swapping between both adapters about 30-40 times trying to figure it out.  Assumed it was user error for the first 10-15 times, but now I'm convinced there is something different between the small 30-pin/Lightning adapter and the 0.2m cable version of the "same". 

 

I hope as more people get there's and test it, we'll figure this out.  If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.  If you are still deciding or waiting, just be aware, that at least one person (me) is having these 2 adapters behave differently with the same exact accessory.

iphone 5 VGA cable

I've got an iPhone 5 lightning-to-VGA cable.

 

I can plug it into the TV using a VGA-to-VGA cable no problem - works perfectly.

 

I then tried to use both of the following:

 

• VGA-to-component (RGB) cable
• VGA-to-composite (singe yellow plug for video) cable

 

neither of these worked to my TV or to other monitors I used.

 

Does anyone know what the VGA output on the apple cable is actually sending?

 

Does it only support the RGB component VGA output or does it support the composite signal?  Or possibly both?

 

The iphone did at least recognise that the TV was connected when using the VGA-to-RGB cable, but nothing displayed on the screen.
