iPhone4 shuts off at 29% 30% battery remaining

Greetings!

I have an iPhone4 around a year old running iOS 4.3.3.

I don't know when this problem started... I usually charge before hitting 30% battery.  Of course the one time I need to use the phone for an emergency and don't have a charger handy I have a problem

At 29% battery the phone will shut itself off and show the charge screen.  If I do a hard reset the phone will come on... boot up... then turn itself off again.

If I charge the phone to 30-31% it will work perfectly fine until it hits 29%.  I've repeated this a dozen times to make sure.

I've tried everything I can think of to try to fix this problem.  I can't really find anyone else with the exact same problem.

Iphone4 to Iphone5 Messages ONLY

Hi there,

I got my iphone 5 on the 7th of Feb and ever since ive been having problems with it. I was finally advised by Apple care to restore the phone as new and not to add the backup data from iphone4 to it as that could be causing the battery & over heating issues.

I told the rep I was speaking to that I really needed my messages, contacts & calendar. The apps are easy and I can download them at any time. She said not to worry about that and just to follow her advise for now and then once done call them back so they can walk me through how to get the important things back only.

That was on Saturday and today is Sunday and of course they are closed.

I managed to get the apps, emails, contacts, reminders, basically I think I've got everything EXCEPT Messages/iMessages/MMS. I really really hope that she didn't mislead me and that there is a way to get the messages back

I use both iTunes & iCloud backups & im using the latest version of iTunes & iOS

My phone seems to be loosing battery really quickly. It came only slightly charged but I have since fully charged it and notice it drains much faster than my iPhone 4. Is anyone having similar issues?  Frustrating!
